TAMIL DANCE FOR SONG OF POET BHARATHIDASAN

கரந்தை ஜெயக்குமார்: சோழ மண்ணில்: நண்பர்களே, மனம்
There are historians and distorians. After karanthai pulavar Govindarasanar i see a real, unbiased ,chaste historian in Mr.Jayakumar. As the author of the book Thanjaiyilae Gangai released in 1985 during the 1000th year of Coronation of Rajaraja, a textbook prescribed for bharathidasan univ. with three revised editions, i feel immensely glad that Mr. jayakumar never cares for others. based on the original sources he has just placed before us the truth, that is the spirit of a researcher. Schwartz said " historians prostitute history by making fables and legends into history". Before the Bogus Ph.Ds. this article of jayakumar, if extended further in the form of a thesis deserves a real, ISO standard Ph.D. Now let us enter into contents of the sources evinced by him:
1. He tells boldly that Rajendra ascended the throne in A.D. 1012 and from the first day itself he inscribed his orders. Jayakumar is as bold as myself who revealed this in facebook that he ascended throne on 30th May 1012 succeeding his father Rajaraja who led a waning life till his death 1014.(Robert Sewell: Outlines of South |Indian History). it has been clearly proved from the first year inscription up to his 29th year inscription at Ennayiram that he ascended throne in 1012. Hats off to u Jayakumar.
2. what ever u have written are all perfect according to the real historians.
3. The photographs are sharp and brilliant.
4. Both the temples are replicas of the Greek Pyramids, which he shows in his pictures beautifully.
5. When we build a house it is built as per Vaastu saastram. Temples are built as per Agamas. Since the sanctum sanctorum serves as a Magudam for the Linga, this is built as per Magudagamam. Here the temple tank should be situated in the north east side of the temple. Randra has done it perfectly. Jayakumar's photo of Lion faced entrance of the tank Singamuga kinaru which is an orthodox statement. In thanjavur there was a tank named Therai theertham in the same location eastern side of the nataraja temple. As it was closed and many changes were made thanjavur temple has become unauspicious. thanks to Mr. Jayakumar.
6. He rightly points out that the Gangaikonda cholapuram was completed 1025. That is a very nice statement. let me add here some thing. there was no strong palace in thanjavur or in Palaiyaru. From 1012 to 1025 to construct the temple, where did he live? He lived in Chidambaram very near, in the West Car Street of chidambaram where we still find a granite construction which was his camp office. It is now a choultry for marriages.
7. Jayakumar takes us to Maaligai medu and shows the remains. the granit stones with inscriptions were taken away by the British and used to build Anaicut Bridge nearby. we last many inscriptions. If jayakumar would have probed further he could have seen Utkottai where actually his fort was there. Local people used to take the bricks and build their houses in Utkottai area which i have visited..
Some additions: since i feel my friend will not mind my part in his spot, let me tell vital role of Rajendra,
MUGALS IN DELHI. Aurangazeb and other mogals destroyed all hindu temples in north India. Rajendra proved that he should frighten them with his valour, caputured maharastra, bengal even. to cross the ganges river where there was no bridge, he made an elephant bridge more than thousand 1000 elephants stood in the river very near to other elephant and an elephant brige was made. Over the backs of the elephants our warriors put their steps one after another and crossed the bridge.
If Mugals would have stepped into south india, they would have destroyed all our temples and monuments and we will have no temples left out to speak proud of our heritage. Rajendra only saved our temples of South India from Mugals who were frightened by his north indian victory. Let us bow our heads before Rajendra. he died in 1044 in Brahmadesam in Chingleput area where his uncle Vallavaraiyan Vandhiya Thevan was ruling a small territory. they were with cordial relationship though vallavaraiyan departed from Kundavai Piraattiyaar. When Rajendra died his queen commited sati. Nangai Paravai a devadasi of Tiruvarur who was also a queen of Rajendra when heard the death without commiting sati she died out naturally. That is love and that is history.
Many more events should be published by Mr. Jayakumar, a true historian by soul and spirit and not writing stories getting money selling his research. All should appreciate and encourage him.
